The Narendra Modi government is expected to introduce a bill to give citizens who lose their jobs to foreign firms a chance to rehire them.
According to reports, the government will introduce the new law to ensure that only foreign companies are able to hire people.
Prime Minister Narendra Modiji has announced the country’s first privatisation bill to boost the economy.
The bill, dubbed the ‘Employment Guarantee Act’, would allow a person to hire a foreign worker for as long as he or she works for a foreign firm for six months.
The Bill is likely to be passed on Friday and will be presented to the National Assembly, the highest legislative body in India, for a vote.
The government has been pushing the legislation in the last few months, hoping to revive the economy after years of economic slowdown.
Earlier this year, Modi scrapped the countrys unemployment benefit, making it mandatory for people to seek unemployment benefit before they can apply for a job.
The Prime Minister has also announced the scrapping of a bill that provided an allowance of Rs.2 lakh to every unemployed person in India.
The proposal is expected be approved by the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government on Monday.
