The Democratic Party is using the #Weep for some political maneuvering.
The Democratic National Committee has announced that it will be using a new hashtag on social media to promote its fundraising efforts, and is using a variety of other strategies to get the attention of voters.
The hashtag, #WeepingForTheDems, was introduced by DNC Vice Chair Tulsi Gabbard and the DNC’s executive director Donna Brazile, and it is designed to be a way for the party to reach out to Democratic voters and reach out directly to them.
According to the official announcement, the new hashtag will allow for a “more engaging and more thoughtful conversation between the Democratic Party and its progressive base, as well as a way to raise the funds necessary to elect Democrats in the 2018 midterms.”
The goal of the #WEepingFortheDems hashtag is to encourage more Democrats to donate to the DNC, to get more progressive candidates on the ballot in 2018, and to get their voices heard at the ballot box in 2020.
This is the second hashtag that has been introduced by Gabbards office.
The first hashtag, “#WeepingfortheDucks,” was introduced in October, and the second one, “#WEepingforDems2,” was announced last week.
This will be the second time the DNC has adopted a hashtag.
The party had launched a #WeeProud hashtag in October.
