Today’s big news comes from a recent earnings call.
We’ve got a bunch of exciting news about the next version of Playbook: Playbook 3.0.0 is a new feature that will make the platform even more powerful for developers and publishers.
In short, the new version of the app will let you:• Play any of your playlists from your device• Easily add a new playlist to your library• Easier access to all your playlist from your phone• Customize your playback options to suit your preferences.
We can’t talk about it all in one article, but here are a few highlights:• You can now add playlists directly from the app.• When you’re adding a playlist, you can now choose to use the new search function to find it.• Playlists will now show up on your home screen with an overlay on the home screen for easier navigation.• You’ll see a new “Playlist” section for each of your current playlists, where you can choose to add them to your collection or just the home page.• The app will now automatically remove playlists you’ve added.
This is one big change for Playbook.
Previously, Playbook could only search your library and add playlist names and metadata.
Now, you’ll be able to browse your play list and select the one you want to add to your playlist.
We’ve seen a lot of developers take a different approach with Playbook, with some opting for the built-in search feature over the new Search function.
The Playbook team will be keeping an eye on how users respond to this new feature and how they feel about it.
We’ll keep you updated as we get more information.
